Please mark your calendars for a special Notation in Science Communication event “Community Trust and Health Reporting: A Conversation with Journalist Mariana Duran,” on Tuesday April 21, 1:30-2:30PM at the Hume Center Lounge (Building 250). 

Mariana Duran is a bilingual reporter for El Tecolote, San Francisco’s bilingual newspaper, through UC Berkeley’s California Local News Fellowship. Her work has also been featured in TheLos Angeles Times, The Guardian, and KQED. She will speak about her recent work reporting on a popular-yet-dangerous supplement that is readily available in Latinx immigrant neighborhoods, and how she broke the story in the pages of El Tecolote and The Guardian.
