Stanford Global Health Club is a new monthly seminar series organized by PhD students and postdocs for the Stanford community, designed to better understand challenges in global health and find creative solutions. The series will provide a space where young scientists can present and discuss ongoing global health projects and ideas, and spark collaborations. Students from all disciplines are invited to attend.

Each event will feature two 20 minutes talks, typically from Stanford junior researchers and remote speakers working directly with communities affected by health equity, followed by a rooftop happy hour.

Students interested in participating can fill out this short survey to stay in touch and receive invitations for future events.

For the first event on Oct. 3, the rooftop happy hour will be replaced by the Global Health Fall Kickoff hosted by CIGH. Speakers will be:
– Alassane Mbengue (Pasteur Institute of Dakar, Senegal) will share his work on Malaria Experimental Genetic Approaches as well as his community engagement projects designed to support public health priorities in Senegal.
– Jerome Nowak (Prakash lab, Stanford) will present Inkwell, a low-cost but high quality tool to facilitate malaria diagnosis.
